Known for its rich natural heritage, Lonar is famous for Lonar Crater, an oval shaped lake surrounded by hills. This lake was formed due to a meteorite hitting the earth around 52, 000 years ago according to geological studies. Its considered as the youngest and well preserved impact crater , formed in tough basalt rock and is one of a kind.

The lake water is both Saline and alkaline in nature and emerald green in color.
Lonar has been attracting ecologists, geologists, astronomers,archaeologists and naturalists over the years.
The lake is surrounded by flora and fauna which offers birding opportunities to visitors as a number of migratory birds can be seen around the lake.
One gets to see numerous temples in ruins during Parikrama of Lonar Lake which starts from the beautiful Gomukh Dhar Temple.
Another temple named Daityasudan, located in Lonar is an architectural treat to visitors.
We will be also visiting 120 years old Mehkar Balaji Temple where the Idol is made in single black stone.

Day 0, 19th Jan, Friday:

Board Devgiri Express from Mumbai at 9.30 pm from CST.

Day 1, 20th Jan, Saturday: 

Reach Aurangabad early in the morning by 4.15 am.
Proceed towards Lonar by private vehicle (3 Hours by road).

We will have breakfast enroute or at our hotel  and freshen up once the rooms are allocated to the group.
Proceed for sightseeing.
Visit Daityasudan Temple and understand its history from experts.
Later on visit Motha Maruti Temple.
Have Lunch.
Post Lunch, Visit Mehkar Balaji Temple.
Come back to our Hotel. 
Retire for the day post dinner.

Day 2, 21st Jan, Sunday: 

Post Breakfast, checkout from the Hotel and we will proceed with Lonar Parikrama (Minimum 1.5 Hours one way) and explore the temples. One can choose to explore Dhar temple & the crater (1 Hour one way)
Post Lunch, we will move towards Aurangabad.
Visit Sindkhed Raja, Birthplace of Jijau Mata.

Have dinner in Aurangabad.

Train details: Nandigram Express at 9.30 pm.

Day 3, 22nd Jan, Monday:

Reach Mumbai by 5.30 a.m.

P.S: Pl note that one needs to descend to explore Lonar Crater and there is a 2 hours trek (One way) involved. It is advised to consult with your doctors if you are having high blood pressure or asthma.
