In this offbeat Tour, we are going to be exploring the other side of Madhya Pradesh which is rarely explored. Madhya Pradesh is truly a feast for those who look for Historical forts & monuments, religious places, Ancient Paintings.

We will be taking you to some of the offbeat places in MP Major being Sanchi Stupa, Udaygiri and Bhimbetka.

The Bhimbetka rock shelters are an archaeological site in central India that exhibits the earliest traces of human life on the Indian subcontinent and evidence of beginning of Stone Age. Bhimbetka is home to close to 500 pre-historic rock shelters and caves which have a large no. of paintings. These were discovered in 1957 and declared as UNESCO World Heritage site in 2003.The oldest paintings are considered to be 30,000 years old. The use of natural colors has ensured that the paintings have endured better over time. They are an insight into the first traces of pre-historic mankind like lifestyle, festivals, hunting and agriculture.

Sanchi Stupa is a Buddhist complex, famous for its Great Stupa (Maha Stupa), on a hilltop at Sanchi Town. This Mahastupa is one of the oldest stone structures in India, and an important monument of Indian Architecture and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was originally commissioned by the emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE to preserve and spread the Buddhist philosophy. It is one of the most important places for Buddhist pilgrimage and pilgrims from around the world visit this place.

The Udayagiri Caves are twenty rock-cut caves near Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh from the early years of the 5th century CE. They contain some of the oldest surviving Hindu temples and iconography in India. One of India’s most important archaeological sites, the Udayagiri hills and its caves are protected monuments managed by the Archaeological Survey of India.

We will also be visiting Bhojeshwar temple which has one of the tallest Shivalinga in India. Along with that, we will visit Taj-Ul-Masque which is one of the largest mosques in India and Asia.

Offbeat Bhopal Tour

Day 0:

Board train for Bhopal by 7.30 pm from CST.

Day 1: Arrival in Bhopal-Bhojpur Bhimbetka sightseeing

Arrival in Bhopal by 9.30 a.m.
We will check in into hotel and freshen up.
Post Breakfast, Leave for exploration.
Visit Bhimbetka and Bhojpur.

Come back to Hotel after dinner.

Day 2: Sanchi-Udaygiri Exploration  

In morning, proceed towards Sanchi and Udaygiri caves at Vidisha by 7.00 am from our hotel.Have breakfast on the way.

Day 3: Local Bhopal Sightseeing.

Post Breakfast, Explore local places in Bhopal.
