Yana Caves/Rocks are located in Yana village in North Karnataka. These rocks are two huge monolithic rocks known as the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara surrounded by thick forest and they are part of Sahyadri hill range. They are composed of solid black, crystalline karst limestone. Yana is also a well known pilgrimage center because of the cave temple below Bhairaveshwara Shikhara where a Swayambhu linga has been formed.

Along with Yana , we would be visiting Madhukeshwara (Banavasi) temple which is a 9^th century marvel and Sahastralinga which is in the river Shamala and is famous for around thousand lingas carved on the rocks in the river and on its banks.

Day 0, Friday:

Board Matsyagandha Express Train from Mumbai at 03.20 pm.

Day 1, Saturday: Kumta- Yana Caves-Sirsi

Reach Kumta in the morning by 4.00 am.
We will freshen up in hotel rooms taken near Kumta station.
Post breakfast, move towards Yana Rocks. (There is a hike of approx 20 min from Gokarna side.).
In evening, We will visit Sirsi Marikamba Temple.
Then we will check in into our Homestay at Sirsi.
Retire for the day post dinner.

Day 2, Sunday: Sirsi-Sahastralinga-Banavasi-Kumta

Post Breakfast, checkout from the Homestay by 9.00 am. We will be moving towards Sahastralinga which is close to Sirsi. Post Sahastralinga, we will head to Banavasi Maddhukeshwara Temple.
Depending on time in hand & subject to road conditions, we will visit Unchalli Falls or Vibhooti Falls (10 Min Hike).
Post Lunch, we will head back to Kumta Station to take a train back to Mumbai.

Day 3, Monday:

Reach Mumbai between 4.00 a.m-6.45 am.

Note: We will be taking few rooms in Kumta/Honnavar for freshening up for 1-2 hours. One room will be allocated to 4 people.
