Description
Tandulwadi fort is located in Saphale, Palghar district. It stands at a height of 1900 feet above msl.
On the top of the fort, one can find many water cisterns, remains of ramparts and water reservoirs.
In 1737, this fort was captured by Marathas.
One gets to see amazing views of Asheri, Takmak and Kohoj forts and confluence of Vaitarana and Surya rivers he top of the fort.
So if you want to get away from hustle bustle of the city on the weekend and get closer to nature, then this is a perfect getaway for you.

Itinerary
30th June:
- Meet the trek leader at Saphale station between 7.00 am to 7.30 am (For Western line participants, Board 5.24 am Churchgate-Dahanu Local & alight at Saphale @ 7.04 am & Central line participants, Board 5.33 am Dombivali-Boisar Train & alight at Saphale @ 7.23 am)
- We will move to base village by public transport by 7.45 am
- Reach Base Village by 8.15 am and have breakfast
- Start the trek by 9.00 am & reach the top by 11.30 am ( 2.5 Hours one way)
- After exploring the fort , we will start descending to base village by 12.30 pm
- Reach base village by 2.30 pm & have lunch (There is a facility to change the cloths at the base)
- Move towards Saphale by 4.00 pm
- Reach Saphale Station by 5.00 pm & start the return journey
