Gwalior is located in central state of Madhya Pradesh in India & is rich with beautiful palaces, temples and mosques giving it a royal and majestic touch which speaks of its glorious history. It was ruled by many dynasties like Tomars, Mughals and Maratha followed by Scindia in 18th Century.
Gwalior holds an unparalleled reputation in music & it is the birthplace of the oldest genre of Hindustani Sangeet- Gwalior Gharana. Legendary musicians like Tansen and Baiju Bawara belonged to Gwalior.
Gwalior has lot to offer in terms of Tourism and is majorly famous for its massive hilltop fort.
Gwalior fort is located on the top of rocky mountain and is also known as ‘Gibraltar of India’. The fort complex is surrounded by walls in red sandstone and fort complex comprises of many palaces and temples. The major and the most beautiful among them are the Man Singh Palace, Sas Bahu Temple, Teli ka Mandir. On the way to fort, you also come across Gopachal hill which holds 1500 idols. There are some intricate and stunning carvings of Jain Tirthankars which are absolutely mesmerizing.
Mitawali is a village where the popular Chausath Yogini Temple lies – The temple is perched atop a hill surrounded by the lush greenery.
Bateshwar temples are a cluster of almost 200 mini grandeurs made of sandstone, devoted to lords Shiva and Vishnu. Spread over 25 acres, these shrines were built across slanted hills near Padavali. The temples were constructed in the 8th to 10th century AD probably during the Gurjara-Pratihara Dynasty.
The notable Padavali fortress was built in the 18th century by the Jat Ranas rulers of Dhaulpur. The fort also has a temple that once served as a divine place to worship Lord Shiva.
So Gwalior is one place which definitely should not be missed by Heritage architecture and offbeat lovers.

Day 1, 25th Dec, Wednesday:
Meet the tour leader at at Kalyan at 1.00 pm and leave for Gwalior by Mangala Ldweep Train.
Day 2, 26th Dec, Thursday: Gwailor- Padavali-Mitawali-Bateshwar-Gwalior
We will reach Gwalior by 8.05 am.
Check in at Hotel and freshen up. Have Breakfast.
Post Breakfast, We will set out to explore Padavali-Mitawali-Bateshwar Temple complexes by 10.00 am.
Enroute visit Sun Temple of Gwalior.
Come back to hotel after sightseeing.

Day 3, 27th Dec, Friday: Full day excursion at Gwalior Fort and its complex
We will move out to explore Gwalior fort and its complex which has many places to visit,namely, Man Singh Palace, Karn Palace, Saas Bahu Temple, Teli ka Mandir,Gopachal Parvat, Gujari Mahal, Gurudwara, Suraj Kund.
In evening, we will enjoy Light and sound show which will help us to understand the history more.
Come back to our hotel in night after dinner.

Day 4, 28th Dec, Saturday: Gwalior Local sightseeing and Tighra Dam
Post Breakfast,We will leave for Gwalior Local Sightseeing and visit Tombs of Tansen and Mohammad Ghaus, Jai Vilas Palace.
Post lunch, We will explore Tighra dam which is approximately 20 kms from Gwalior main city.
You can indulge into boating (subject to availability and optional).
Come back to Gwalior city.
We will move to Gwalior Railway station to take train back to Mumbai after dinner.
Train Name: BE LTT Express (14314) at 9.38 pm from Gwalior.

Reach LTT by 8.00 pm.
