Description
Asherigad is situated in Palghar Region and often termed as an elder brother of the other forts due to its massive height & size.
It was built by Raja Bhoj in 13th Century. Later on Peshwa won this fort in 1737 during campaign of Konkan & in 1818, this fort came under British rule.
One can see rock cut cave, water tanks,small lake on the top. Along with that one gets to witness beautiful landscape views of nearby mountains & entire Palghar region.

Itinerary
24th June:
- Meet the trek leader at Palghar station between 7.30 am to 8.00 am
(For Western line participants, Board 5.24 am Churchgate-Dahanu Local & alight at Palghar @ 7.26 am & Central line participants, Board 5.33 am Dombivali-Boisar Train & alight at Palghar @ 7.49 am)
- After Breakfast , we will move to base village by our private Vehicle
- Reach Base Village by 9.30 am
- Start the trek by 10.00 am & reach the top by 12.30 pm ( 2.5 Hours one way)
- After exploring the fort & Lunch , we will start descending to base village by 2.30 pm
- Reach base village & move towards Palghar by 5.00 pm
- Reach Palghar Station by 6.00 pm & start the return journey
