Kaas Platue or Kaas Pathar situated in Satara district is known as ‘Valley of Flowers of Maharashtra’. It falls under the Sahyadri Sub Cluster of the Western Ghats, and it became a part of a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2012.
During the bloom period from Mid August to October, one gets to see beautiful flowers of different colours, species and sizes. Along with that, you also get to see numerous species of endemic butterflies. Kaas has more than 850 different species of flowering plants. These include orchids, shrubs such as the Karvy, and carnivorous plants such as Drosera Indica.
The plateau is situated at an altitude of 1200 metres and is approximately 10 square kilometres in area.

Day 0, 5th Oct, Saturday:
Meet the tour leader at Borivali East, AC 700 bus stop near Railway Station at 09.45 pm. Second pick up point Nahur Station (East) at 10.30 pm. We would be taking the JVLR route.
Day 1, 6th Oct, Sunday:
We will reach Kaas in morning.
Freshen up and post breakfast, leave for Kaas Plateau. After exploring Kaas, we will have lunch.
We would start our journey back to home by 2.00 pm and should be able to reach Mumbai by 10.00 pm.
